Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our gnocchi can only be purchased in the Roaring Fork Valley via our online store or by direct messaging us on Instagram @patatinafoods. We will contact you to discuss your pickup time. Note that we typically need at least 3 days’ notice to complete your order. If you prefer home delivery, select that option at checkout.

We are working on extending our shelf life, and once we’ve got that locked down, we will open up shipping to our friends outside the valley!

  • All of our gnocchi is sweet-potato-based. We use only organic potatoes, gluten-free ingredients, and no eggs. This makes our gnocchi inclusive for our vegan and wheat-free friends. For gnocchi recipes that call for flour, we use Bob’s Red Mill All-Purpose Gluten-Free Flour, which is primarily bean flour and higher in protein and fiber than other gluten-free flours.

  • We recommend boiling or pan-frying the gnocchi. When boiling, add a dash of olive oil and a pinch of salt to the water. Boil the gnocchi for 2.5-5 minutes. Once the gnocchi float to the top, remove them immediately from the water and add them to a dish. Top the gnocchi with your favorite sauce and enjoy.

To pan-fry, heat oil or butter in a non-stick pan, add uncooked gnocchi in a single layer, and cook over medium-high heat for 5-10 minutes. A non-stick pan is key, as the gnocchi will stick to cast iron, carbon steel, or stainless steel pans! Occasionally stir the gnocchi until golden brown. Once crisped to your liking, remove the gnocchi from the pan and toss with a sauce.

If you froze the gnocchi or bought it frozen, don't defrost it before cooking. Cook it straight from frozen for the best texture and results.

  • We’re open to your ideas! We love hosting gnocchi rolling or cooking classes. For gnocchi-rolling classes, each guest will receive their own gnocchi-rolling board, dough cutter, and a pile of dough to roll. We will teach your guests how to roll the gnocchi, and we can cook it for you as well.

Please use the contact form to learn more. After an initial conversation, we’ll provide a quote. We can’t wait to host an event with you.

  • Yes, you can! We recommend laying the gnocchi flat on a tray before freezing to prevent them from freezing together into a giant clump. We can always flash-freeze the gnocchi for you. Just note that request at checkout. Don't defrost the gnocchi before cooking—cook it straight from frozen for the best texture and results.

  • We recommend eating the gnocchi within a week of its preparation and storing it in the fridge to ensure optimal freshness and taste. Need more time? Select “Frozen” at Checkout, and we can flash freeze the gnocchi for you. Frozen gnocchi will last in the fridge for months.
